Consulting: Learning and Development
Consulting Experiences
After establishing a foundation in career as a therapist, I accepted a position to broaden my clinical skills set by joining the Learning and Development at an Human Resources Consulting firm. I specialize in assessing, creating, and delivering corporate training presentations and group facilitation of adult learning principles on a variety of topics and utilize current research to present material comprehensively and engagingly. This role has allowed me to bring the concepts of social work and therapy to corporate audiences on topics, including: equal employment opportunities; diversity, equity, and inclusion; mental health and substance abuse; resiliency after traumatic events; and more. Social work practices of empathy, curiosity, observation of human behaviors, and effective communication practices transferred into this corporate consulting experience.
Who I’ve Helped
The clients with whom I’ve worked are immensely varied. I’ve had the pleasure of facilitating learning-based discussions with professionals in the arts, finance, fashion, law, education, IT consulting, human services, governmental agencies, and many more. I have also trained education and healthcare professionals to become peer coaches, empowering them to bring counseling skills into conversations with peers in overly-taxed working environments. Sessions are conducted either in-person or virtually.
